How to use Janelle Beauty’s Brilliant Shine products to achieve a smooth and straight style

STEP 1: Part hair in 4 sections and apply the Brilliant Shine Hair Mask one section at a time. (tip: Use a applicator brush tip to section off smaller sections, then apply product with applicator brush from roots to ends.)

TIP: Pour hair mask into small bowl for easier application.

STEP 2: Using your fingers, apply the mask from roots to end. Repeat on entire head of hair. Let Hair Mask sit for 20 minutes.

TIP: You can dampen your hair to allow the mask to apply more evenly.

Do not to leave mask on longer than recommended times, to avoid protein overload. This is especially true for the High Trace product, because of molasses content.

STEP 3: Rinse and wash with High Trace Mineral Smoothing Hair Wash. (tip: After massaging into hair to wash away buildup, apply a second time by massaging in product from root to tip and let sit for at least 5 minutes to 20 minutes.

STEP 4: Rinse and apply Brilliant Shine Moisturizing Conditioner. You will notice a difference in your natural curls right away. For smooth styles, complete the Finisher step below.

STEP 5: To achieve the smooth and straight look, we are going to use the Brilliant Shine Virgin Coconut Hair Serum. This product, when used with the flat iron, will seal your hair with a protective protein coating that repairs damaged hair while protecting hair from heat.

Apply the Brilliant Shine Virgin Coconut Hair Serum for Heat Protection

After you have washed and conditioned your hair, pour a dime sized amount of the hair serum into the palm of your hand. A little goes a long way, this should be enough to cover your entire head of hair.

Massage it through your hair thoroughly, from roots to ends.

TIP: In humid temperatures, you can significantly increase the amount you use. Hair may appear thin after flat-iron application, but it will fill out to a normal bounce, once it is exposed to the humid air.

For best results, blow-dry your hair thoroughly after you apply the serum. We recommend using a comb attachment. This helps to really dry the roots, and enhances the hair straightening process.
